I trained in London, and have been a children’s doctor since 1994. I have worked in many of the major hospitals in the West Midlands, including Birmingham Children’s Hospital, gaining a very wide range of experience.
I’m accredited by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in General Paediatrics (general kids’ issues) but my NHS work has been as a Consultant Paediatrician in Community Paediatrics which covered more specialised areas such as Disability, Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. See my qualifications.
I was an NHS Paediatric consultant for 7 years and was Head of Complex and Palliative Care in Solihull, with honorary consultant posts at Birmingham Children’s Hospital in the departments of Neurology and Metabolic Medicine.
There are very few children’s doctors like me, who are confident working with such a wide range of childhood and teenage illnesses, developmental and social problems. This means that I can act as a ‘one stop shop’ working with your child holistically without the frequent need to refer elsewhere.
I do, however, have an excellent range of specialised colleagues, ranging from Consultant Experts to therapists in Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Dietetics and other therapies, including some complementary therapies, with whom I can discuss problems and refer to when necessary to provide a safe and comprehensive service for you.
